Ms. Rosette Holmes, Principal

   As we embark on the 2023-24 academic year, I am filled with immense pride and excitement as I witness the rich tapestry of cultures that make up our school community. At Sunset Elementary and OH School we celebrate diversity as one of our core strengths and believe that it enriches every aspect of our educational journey.

Our school's multicultural emphasis is not just a statement; it is the beating heart of our educational philosophy. We firmly believe that by embracing and learning from each other's unique backgrounds, traditions, and perspectives, we foster an inclusive environment that nurtures empathy, tolerance, and understanding.

Throughout the year, we will continue to uphold our commitment to multicultural education by having a variety of multicultural events, that showcase the beauty and richness of our different heritages. These events will be moments of joy, unity, and celebration for our entire school community.

Our teachers will integrate multicultural perspectives and experiences into the curriculum, ensuring that all students see themselves and their cultures reflected in their studies. This inclusive approach will foster a sense of belonging and empowerment in the classroom.

Our teachers, counselor and support staff help create safe spaces where all students feel safe to express their identities and experiences without fear of judgment. By promoting open dialogue and embracing diversity, we build a strong sense of community.

I encourage everyone in our school community to actively participate in our multicultural initiatives, share their knowledge, and engage in meaningful conversations that promote cross-cultural understanding. Together, we can build a school that not only values diversity but actively leverages it to enhance our collective growth and development.
